About

When I was 13 years old, I read a couple too many Joan Didion quotes on Tumblr, became obsessively enamored with Pitchfork and dreamed of being Tavi Gevinson. A decade later, these interests have substantiated the start of a (hopefully successful) journalism career.

I write about music, culture and identity, more specifically about how the three intersect. I’ve written about gendered viewings of reality television and the movement politics of South Asian hip hop, along with Florida education politics and New York City compost. A whole slew of things! My experience writing well-researched, thoroughly reported stories on any topic in the mainstream political and cultural lexicon is what makes me excited to continue to pursue a career in journalism.

As of December 2025, I have a master’s degree in arts and culture journalism and dual bachelors degrees in journalism and women & gender studies. I hope to use my experience and education to continue writing about my interests in music, pop culture, and the politics of identity.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any advice about being a journalist and/or navigating your early 20s, or if you want to become friends so we can rant about how humbling both those things are! <3
