Once a month, Nirupa Rao hosts Bazaar Supper Club, where she cooks a three-course meal for 18 strangers.
Bazaar is a part of a growing trend in large cities like New York City, where both amateur and professional cooks invite people to try new food and meet new people, most likely in their own apartments. In other ways, Bazaar Supper Club is a monolith – in the past couple of months, Rao has accumulated over 40,000 followers on Instagram through her creative menus, which fuse South Asian flavors into multicultural dishes like her signature Burrata chaat.
